TAJ MAHAL
Taj Mahal One of the 7 wonders of the world was established in 1631-1653. The famous Taj Mahal is a royal monument building type Islamic tomb. Taj Mahal is a symbol of fine Mughal architecture which was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan dedicated to his third wife Arjumand Bano Begum who was known as Mamtaz mahal. Taj Mahal is located at Agra in Uttar Pradesh), India. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. Then it was declared as "universally admired masterpiece of the world's heritage.
History of Taj Mahal :
Tajmahal was made by Shah Jahan for his wife Mamtaj Mahal. Shah Jahan was known as Khurram. He was bron in 1592. He was the grandson of third Mughal Emperor Akbor and the son of forth Mughal emperor Jehangir. In 1607 when he was 15 years old that time he saw Arjumand Banu Begum (after who was known as Mumtaz Mahal) and fall in love. After five year in 10th may, 1612 shah jahan married her. Mamtaz was the doughter of Abdul Hasan Asaph khan. He was the brother of Noor Jahan wife of King Jahangir. Shah Jahan loved her so much. He also bestowed her with the title of Mumtaz Mahal (Jewel of the Palace). But unfortunately Arjumand Bano Begum (Mumtaz Mahal) died in the year 1631, during giving birth to their 14th child and He was very grief-stricken. As a symbol of love Shah Jahan starts Construction of Taj Mahal as soon as her death. Construction of the main Tomb of Mamtaz mahal was finished in 1648(AD) and the building around the tomb and the garden created more then five year’s later.
To make Tajmahal many architectural design of many country were used.Among these Mughal and Parisian
architectural designs were used.Tajmahal was made of fine white marbles.
The building is made of fine white marbles with inlays of colored marbles.It has eight sides and many open arches.It rests on a platform or terrace of red sandstone .Four slender white tours rise from the corner of the terrace.The base structure is designed with broken corners at the shape of cube and in every side it is about 55 m length.
There is a large dome in the above of the building of Tajmahal which is the main attraction for the visitors.Its size is 35 m almost equal of the size of the main building.This dome is situated over about a 7mitre above a slender shaped drum. There is a gilded finial in the top of the dome.Before 1800 th century it was made of gold but now it is made of bronge..Around this large dome there are four smaller domes.Just inside the outer walls there in an open corridor from which visitors can look through carved marbles screens into a center room.The bodies of Shah Jahan and his wife Mamtaj Mahal lie in two graves below this central room.
Construction information :-
Shah Jahan made Tajmahal in the land of king Joy Singh by giving him another land in Agra.The construction started by making the wall of the tomb.Atleast three acres of land was dag and the place where he wanted to made Tajmahal was made higher about 50m.In the area of the tomb where flood used to come there a well was made and after it was closed.
The laborers were madea lower path to transport marbles and stones.To set this stones in right place Crane was used.The energy to move crane got from Cows and Donkeys.It took 12 years to made main part.and 10 years to made other parts.
